    Description

    English Georgian Rococo sterling silver tea caddy, 1766. Bombe with corner leaf-mounted volute scroll supports. Chased scrollwork and flower baskets framed by garlands. Asymmetrical cartouche engraved with armorial bird. Round and flat cover central flower head and twisted leafing branches. Fresh and dynamic midcentury design from the early years of George III's reign. Fully marked including London assay stamp and maker's initials "W.T" (possibly William Tuite). Cover has lion passant stamp.
